In the face of collapsing norms, there's a world that continues to forge ahead, unchanging, and us who are aware yet unable to resist. Riding on the upbeat groove created by a lively 80s-style beat and synthesizer loops, the theme, carried by the tenacious Japanese-language melody, is dark and provocative. The single released by heavenphetamine, titled "Kyoen," signifies a feast or frenzy in Japanese. The lyrics sing of those reveling in the madness, those resisting, and those giving up, emanating the scent of gunpowder.
This song was recorded in Kyiv during the years 2022 to 2023, amidst wartime conditions. In the studio of Ukrainian guitarist Evgeny, amidst frequent power outages due to Russian-inflicted infrastructure attacks, enduring the cold, anger, sorrow, fear, hope, and various emotions were encapsulated in the sound source. It was finalized through the performance of the four members: Hiroki Oda on keyboard and vocals, Sara Oda on drums and vocals, Evgeny Korol on guitar, Kira Krempova on flute, and the mixing skills of Yuji Numata, an engineer and former guitarist for heavenphetamine during their activities in Japan.
The four individuals first met in Kyiv's studio just two months before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and they bonded through their sessions. When the war began, Hiroki and Sara donated most of their savings and embarked on a five-month DIY charity tour. During this tour, they visited wartime Kyiv and performed together for the first time, receiving high acclaim from the audience. During that time, they made a promise to record an album and go on a release tour. While the release didn't happen in time, they toured Europe for the first time as a quartet in the spring of 2023, receiving praise in various locations, including Tallinn Music Week. As future plans, they intend to release another single, embark on another European tour, and search for a label to release the album.

This is totally kicking ass! Sounds mainly alternative/psychedelic rock but also arabesque. It make this album exciting like spice. I want to listen to this album in the desert with watching sunset. heavenphetamine
